- I was born in Gaffney, SC, to The Allison family in 1962. My parents took me to a southern baptist church at the age of 8. We became members of an Independent Baptist Church, in Blacksburg, SC, when I was 13 years old. In 1980, at the age of 18, I became very discontent with my life. That December, I met my husband. We got married December 31, 1980. He was in the Navy. We have always been a part of independent baptist churches. Even though we were not saved. In October 1981, we had our first child, a boy, and in November 1982, we had our second, a girl. In May 1985, after being apart most of the 4 years of our marriage, my husband decided to end his military career and save his family. :-) We moved to Ohio and stayed there until September 1987. We then moved to South Carolina and became members of the church I was raised in. Neither one of were saved at the time, but we played the part well.
